eBay Offers to Watchers
Send a price offer to the buyers who watch your eBay listings, by hand or once a day, and never under the payout floor of a listing.
eBay lets a seller send an offer to the buyers who watch a listing or have it in their basket. RestocksAIO sends these offers for you. You can send them by hand from the Marketplace tab. You can also turn on an automatic mode that runs once a day.
Offers to watchers are part of the eBay tools in Premium. They are in the macOS app and the new Windows app.
eBay decides which listings can get an offer. RestocksAIO cannot change this. eBay reports a listing as eligible only when it has interested buyers. eBay does not send offers on multi-variation listings. eBay also says that listings made with its Inventory API are not supported.
Before you start
- Connect the eBay account with the
sell.inventorypermission. If this permission is missing, RestocksAIO shows Reconnect eBay to allow offers. - The account must sell on one of these eBay sites: US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Australia or Canada. eBay does not support offers to watchers on other sites.
eBay sets how long an offer is valid. You cannot change it.
| eBay site | Offer is valid for |
|---|---|
| eBay US, eBay UK | 4 days |
| eBay Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Australia, Canada | 2 days |
The payout floor
RestocksAIO never sends an offer under the payout floor of a listing. The floor is the highest of these values:
- the cost of the Inventory units linked to the listing.
- the lowest payout of each enabled price rule that covers the listing.
RestocksAIO calculates the payout after eBay fees at the offer price. It then compares the payout with the floor. When the eBay fees of the site are not known, RestocksAIO does not send the offer.
A listing without a floor has no linked unit cost and no price rule payout. In the manual mode, such a listing needs a minimum price for the run. In the automatic mode, such a listing gets no offer.
The percent applies to the lower of two prices: the price in RestocksAIO and the live price on eBay.
Send an offer by hand
- Open the Marketplace tab.
- Tick one or more eBay listings that are on sale now.
- Click Send offer to watchers in the row menu. RestocksAIO reads which listings have watchers.
- Read the list. Each line shows the price, the number of watchers, the eligibility and the floor.
- Choose the offer:
- Percent off the listing price: a whole number from 5 to 95.
- Offer price (one listing only): a fixed price. This option works when one listing is eligible. The price must be under the listing price.
- If a listing has no floor, type a value in Minimum price for this run. The minimum applies to every listing of the run.
- Optional: type a Message to the buyers. At most 2,000 characters. HTML is not allowed.
- Click Send offers.
RestocksAIO shows "eBay sent the offer to the watchers of N listings". For each listing that gets no offer, RestocksAIO shows the reason.
Automatic mode
The automatic mode is off by default. You turn it on for each eBay account.
- Open Settings → Accounts and select the eBay account.
- Go to Offers to watchers, under Publishing defaults.
- Tick Send offers to new watchers automatically.
- Set Percent off: a whole number from 5 to 95. The default is 10.
- Set Most offers a day: a whole number from 1 to 500. The default is 10.
- Optional: type a Message to the buyers.
RestocksAIO saves each change when you leave the field. The panel shows the time and the result of the last run.
While the app runs, RestocksAIO checks each hour if the automatic mode of an account is due. It runs one time a day for each account. In each run:
- RestocksAIO asks eBay which listings have interested buyers.
- It skips a listing that RestocksAIO does not know, because it has no price or floor for it.
- It skips a multi-variation listing.
- A listing gets at most one offer in 24 hours. This includes offers that you sent by hand.
- After the first offer, a listing gets another offer only when it has more watchers than at the last run.
- It skips a listing when the offer price is under the floor, or when the listing has no floor.
- It stops when the account reaches Most offers a day.
RestocksAIO shows "eBay automatic offers: sent to the watchers of N listings" after a run that sent offers.
