RestocksAIO DocsDescription Templates
Write one description template for each eBay, Shopify, Vinted and Wallapop account. The Publish Composer fills it for each listing.
Each store account has its own description template. The Publish Composer starts each description from the template of the account. You can still change the description for each item.
Description templates are part of the store channels in Premium: eBay, Shopify, Vinted and Wallapop. They are in the macOS app and the new Windows app.
Edit the template
- Open Settings → Accounts.
- Select an eBay, Shopify, Vinted or Wallapop account.
- Go to Description template, under Publishing defaults.
- Type your text in the editor.
- To add a placeholder, put the cursor where you want it. Then click the placeholder button, for example
{brand}. - Check the text under Preview with a sample item.
- Click Save.
RestocksAIO shows "Saved. New publishes use this template." Listings that are live keep their description.
Reset to default puts the app's own description back in the editor. Click Save to use it. When you save an empty template, RestocksAIO uses the default.
The composer's Writing style editor and this editor change the same template.

Example: Sold by {store_name}. on the first line, an empty line, then {auto}. The description starts with your line and continues with the default text.
Rules
- RestocksAIO leaves out a line when all its placeholders are empty. It also leaves out a heading with no lines under it.
- A placeholder that is not in the list stays as you typed it. The editor shows "Not a known placeholder: … It is sent as you typed it."
- The size placeholders have a value when the listing has one size. A Vinted or Wallapop item is one unit, so it always has its size. A multi-size listing and a Shopify product name no size.
- When RestocksAIO cannot find the US and UK sizes, only
{size_eu}has a value.
What each store receives
